Location: Meansville is a community of about 250 located in Pike County in west –central Georgia.  It is approximately 50 miles south of Atlanta, 50 miles west of Macon, and 65 miles northeast of Columbus.  Meansville lies within 15 miles of Griffin (pop. 24,000), Thomaston (pop. 9,500), and Barnesville (pop. 6,000).

History:  Meansville Baptist Church was organized in 1888.  Our present sanctuary was constructed in the 30’s, during the height of the depression, using largely donated materials and labor, but it was really built on faith and love.  It is modeled after a small church in France.  It took over 10 years to complete the building, during which time the congregation met in a tabernacle with a sawdust floor.  It was the first brick church in Pike County.  Through the years, our church has had its ups and downs but has continued to faithfully carry out the Lord’s work in our community.

Facilities:  Our recently expanded sanctuary can comfortably accommodate over 225 adult worshipers, plus 25 in the choir.  We have an excellent piano and organ and a modern sound system.

Our annex contains a kitchen and dining hall, church library, classrooms, and a large, modern nursery.  We are in the process of installing a state-of-the-art playground. 

Our Faith Building, a renovated store building, has a large dining facility and kitchen downstairs, and classrooms and our youth center upstairs. 

We have a pastorium that is available as a long-term or short-term residence.
