Mission
Friends is the preschool organization of WMU. It is designed for
preschoolers, birth through kindergarten. Its main goal is to
teach missions attitudes and concepts to all preschoolers.
In Mission
Friends, preschoolers participate in developmentally and
age-appropriate learning activities and experiences that help
set the beginning stage for a missions lifestyle.
Preschoolers
learn by doing. As they participate in activities that provide
repetition, stir curiosity, create a sense of accomplishment,
help develop relationships, encourage investigation, and use
their senses, they learn to help others, work together, pray,
give, and tell others about God's love and His Son, Jesus.
Through
example, imitation, modeling, activities, stories, cultural
items, prayer, patience, and love, Mission Friends learn
missions attitudes and concepts and the foundations of faith.
Because
preschoolers learn differently at various stages and ages,
Mission Friends provides learning experiences for four age
levels: Younger Mission Friends (babies), Middle Mission Friends
(ones and twos), Older Mission Friends (threes and fours), and
Kindergarten (fives and preschool sixes).
